I'm vice president of my FFA chapter and was looking to add some fun ideas. Last years officers tried to start an activity known as the Ag Olympics. Some ideas we had were a hay bail toss, a floral arrangement competition, and a watermelon seed spitting contest. I was hoping some one, or hopefully many people would be able to give some ideas. What sounds fun? What do you think high schoolers would enjoy? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you so much!
Creative Ideas Wanted! What kind of activities are good for "Ag Olympics?"?

Quiz Bowl ( most correct answers for ag / FFA related questions wins)
Hope this helps! have fun!!
Reply:You could borrow a few ideas from rodeos. I realize these are high schoolers you're talking about, but one of the funniest things I've seen at rodeos were children riding a "wild" sheep or trying to catch a greased pig. Another event I saw was children trying to catch half a dozen calves with "ribbons" or tags on their ears. The children didn't have to literally catch the calf, just pull off the ribbon (they weren't attached too tight). High schoolers could probably do that one if you had fast calves (don't know what time of year you are doing it, but the calves might already be pretty big by then). You could do an obstacle race with single runners or relay teams, such as putting on large farmer-style agricultural boots, jumping over hay bales, shucking a couple of ears of corn, rolling a tractor wheel a certain distance, dropping dry beans from the height of your nose into a glass jar (this is leftover from birthday party games years ago), carrying an egg on a spoon without dropping it, for a certain distance, or milking a goat or cow to get a certain amount of milk in a jar.
