What native Maine flowers are in bloom in Fall (September 22 wedding)?

Wedding is September 22nd in coastal Maine and we are looking to use native floral arrangements. Any orchid or day lilly substitute available at this time of year in Maine?

I don't think there will be too much in bloom at that time of year. There will be mums (not necessarily native, but will be blooming) You may also have some hydrangeas (these also look beautiful dried). There might be some wildflowers blooming such as black-eyed Susans, Queen Anne's lace, goldenrod etc. Don't forget about berries such as bittersweet. If the leaves are starting to turn you could also use those for some color. I would suggest finding a good local florist who will help you create the look that you want for your wedding.
Reply:How about New England asters or Jerusalem artichokes ---both beautiful and native to Maine... Report It
